Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
What is an EAP? A benefit offered by an employer, the EAP provides short-term life coaching and counseling services to employees. While typically part of a larger company’s package, many smaller organizations are beginning to implement EAPs as well.
Why have an EAP? Studies show that 15% of the workforce (regardless of its size) accounts for more than 50% of absenteeism, which profoundly impacts productivity and the bottom line. EAP’s have a track record of significantly containing (or reducing) healthcare spending, as well as saving organizations at least 30% in lost time and up to 60% in sick pay.
How does an EAP work for the employee? CPRC’s Life Guidance Center offers confidential short-term (2-4, one-hour sessions) counseling, coaching and referral services to indivduals and families.
